City Reopens Small Business Relief Grant Program

Small businesses in the city of San Diego can apply for COVID-19 relief funding assistance from the City.

The City, San Diego Foundation, and other partners have teamed up to reopen the City of San Diego Small Business Relief Grant program as well as offer resources to help business owners navigate accessing the funds. The entities are striving to stimulate the local economy across industries and in areas of need due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“Our teams are pushing with all we can to get San Diego back to work and humming, and it’s a team effort across organizations to help small business owners — especially in disadvantaged areas — figure out processes like grant applications and the funding options available to them,” said Daniel Fitzgerald, acting director of the San Diego & Imperial Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network. “It’s our job to be here to assist anyone who needs it, for free.”

Visit SDIVSBDC.org/city-of-san-diego-stimulus-grant for more information about the grant program including the timeline, required documents to apply, details on eligibility and ineligibility as well as priority areas, and getting help — from SBDC resources such as no-cost webinars to scheduling your free SBDC appointment for assistance.

The SBDC exists to assist entrepreneurs. Small business owners can reach out to get assigned a business advisor, who can work with owners one-on-one at no cost.
