Amy Duncan is a consultant, entrepreneur, and investor with over 20 years’ experience working in the high-growth life sciences industry. As an experienced marketing strategist, she led product management, managed corporate branding, developed marketing programs, and sold capital equipment at Life Technologies (Thermo) as well as directed product and marketing initiatives at an entrepreneurial start-up. Through her business, Goldfish Consulting, Amy has advised nearly 100 life science companies at all stages with strategy, execution, and commercialization. Active in the local start-up community, she served as fund manager for the San Diego Angel Conference (SDAC) III, raising over $1.7M from mostly first-time angel investors in four months which invested in five companies. She serves as communications chair for the San Diego Entrepreneurs Exchange (SDEE) and is a member of the Marketing and Membership Committee for the Angel Capital Association (ACA), a member of Tech Coast Angels, San Diego (TCA-SD), and is an advisor with The Brink SBDC. Amy earned a BS in biochemistry from UC Davis and an MBA from San Diego State University.
