Do You Have A Small Business That We Can Help You Start or Grow?
Success Stories: reVessel
Jessica Bell was an elite athlete growing up. She discovered health problems as she grew older and realized she didn’t want to give up on good health as well as wanted to embrace her belief in passion, purpose, and leaving the world a better place for our children. Her family and lifestyle helped her explore options for smart food preparation and transport. Plastic’s less healthy components weren’t the answer, she realized. Glass was clunky and fragile. As Jessica was founding reVessel, she was forming the answer to how the company could help people not dirty so many dishes during food prep as well as carry food away from the home safely and securely.
As CEO, she and her husband and partner, Eddie, not only launched during a pandemic but also deployed a kickstarter campaign for the food system. The greater team keeps focused on their values including sustainability and overall, “operationalizing the tenets of conscious capitalism,” Jessica shares. The business exceeded their campaign goal and is tackling the international market to connect, sell product, as well as balance manufacturing and distribution.
Jessica emphasizes how she views the SBDC as a “centralized hub.” “When I have a problem, if I don’t know where to turn, The Brink SBDC is usually the place I go.” She explains how she’s often connected with a specialist or external partner who is wise and trustworthy. “We’ve found ways to save money or we’ve found ways to generate new revenue.”
reVessel has also partnered with local restaurants on razor-thin margins during this time to further the model of resilience. “It was less about hitting revenue targets, more about surviving and lifting up others.”
